The Crestmont Club was opened in 1990 to serve both boys & girls. Tom Atkinson was the first part-time Director of the Crestmont Club. The Club continues to serve the Crestmont Public Housing neighborhood located directly west of Tri-North Middle School. The Club received it’s first Community Development Block Grant in 1995 which allowed it to pay for part-time employees and other programs. In 2000, Crestmont Club closed for one month due to financial struggles but quickly reopened. By 2003, the Club was able to hire a full-time Unit Director. Rebecca Linehan was the Club’s first full-time Unit Director. A bicycle arch, designed by Joe LaMantia, was constructed and dedicated in the summer of 2007. It provides an inviting walkway. Currently, the Club is run by Unit Director Shawna Meyer-Niederman, a native of Fort Wayne, IN. She has been at Crestmont since the Spring of 2010.
